Whitehorse International Airport Parking & Circulation Study

Whitehorse International Airport Parking & Circulation Study

Project Description

Inukshuk identified solutions to parking, signage and circulation problems. Airport users were consulted on signage, lot layout, convenience, parking priority and safety issues. This picture illustrates one of our simple sign solutions. The new sign is user-friendly, easier to understand at a distance and has resulted in greater compliance and improved circulation.

Dawson Airport Lot Demand

sample image

Project Description

In 2011, the Aviation Branch contracted Inukshuk to investigate the level of interest in acquiring lease lots on the south side of the runway as part of improvement plans for Dawson City Airport. Inukshuk created and administered an on-line survey to reach as many potential lessees as possible. Much of the current demand appeared related to the seasonal mining exploration boom. Inukshuk provided a plan to maximize opportunities for the airport and minimize existing and potential conflict amongst fixed and rotary wing lessees over the long term.
