  • Canyon Technical Feasibility Study

    Project Description

    In response to numerous spot land applications occurring in the area of Canyon Creek, Inukshuk was retained investigate whether the area would be suitable for a planned rural residential subdivision. The report concluded that a planned subdivision would complement the current nature of development and reduce sprawl. Two conceptual options for subdivision design were provided to the client.

    Inukshuk provided research support and local knowledge for this technical study which identified the potential international markets, long haul carriers and aircraft types that can now reach and depart from Whitehorse as a result of the extension of the runway to 2,896 metres.

  • McGowan Lands Rural Residential Technical Feasibility Study

    Project Description

    The study examined the feasibility of creating a new subdivision for non-soil based agriculture and rural residential use southwest of Whitehorse. The study examined land suitability, servicing cost and compatibility with existing development and other land values present.

  • Needs Assessment – Old Crow Air Terminal Building

    The ATB is the ‘gateway’ to the Yukon’s only community without road access. Inukshuk prepared a functional needs assessment focusing on tenant and passenger needs, cargo handling and CARS operation requirements .

  • Schwatka Lake Aviation & Land Use Study

    Schwatka Lake Aviation

    Project Description

    Inukshuk examined the compatibility of land and water uses on Schwatka Lake in the heart of Whitehorse. The lake is the source of drinking water and is used for recreation and as a floatplane base. The study resulted in recommendations to manage shoreline land use and surface water activities.

  • West Dawson Sunnydale Local Area Plan

    Project Description

    Inukshuk worked with the Yukon and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in governments to coordinate planning for public, private and settlement land across the river from Dawson City. The plan balances the desire to maintain the area’s character and existing rural lifestyles while allowing for Client: Government of Yukon future growth and change.

  • Whitehorse International Airport Runway Extension
