Ian Robertson MCIP
Principal & Senior Planner

" I like to think our work
is like a good single malt scotch - it takes awhile to mature naturally, ages
gracefully and provides
a warm memory. "

Ian is an accomplished senior executive with diversified planning and management experience in both the public and private sector. A resourceful, professional land use planner, Ian has worked in five provinces and three northern territories. He has a reputation as a thorough, creative problem solver committed to finding environmentally sound and culturally appropriate solutions.

He has held directorships in a national conservation organization, provincial public advisory committee, territorial tourism association, city heritage association, and the University of Waterloo senate. He served 3 years on the National Awards Committee of the Canadian Institute of Planners and is an active promoter of northern planning interests. During his tenure as a senior civil servant, Ian represented both the Northwest Territories and Yukon in a variety of intergovernmental land use forums involving lands administration, land use planning and parks.

Ian is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce.

Ian's interests include golf course architecture, northern history and travel. He is actively involved in CASARA (Yukon Civil Air Search & Rescue) and is pictured above flying a single-engine Otter over northern Ontario enroute to Red Lake.
